All groups in Roskilde Cathedral, like the other guests of the church, must follow our instructions. To limit the spread of infection by Covid-19 / Corona, we have introduced special guidelines for guided groups. Groups that walk around on their own without a guide must use the cathedral's normal entrance and use the queue at the entrance
Guided groups must report their arrival no later than 48 hours before arrival at firstname.lastname@example.org For weekends, the guided tour must be announced no later than Friday at 12 noon. Groups can be received from 10.30 until one hour before the church closes and will be allowed only with plenty of time between groups. However, not Wednesday and Friday at. 11.45 and 12.15. Upon arrival at the church, the group must use the entrance at Nordre Våbenhus, which is on the opposite side of the church than the normal entrance , where the group is received by the church staff.
Group visits can only be paid via vouchers which must be brought. If the voucher is missing, the group may be rejected. Copenhagen Card, credit card and cash are not accepted as payment for guided groups.
The size of the group must not be in conflict with the assembly ban set by the authorities. Due to COVID-19, parts of the church limit how many people can stay in a particular area. The guide, tour leader, etc. is responsible for the group's behavior and that the group respects our directions. Excluded for this are school classes and institutions.
If you want to booka guided tour with us, the max is 20 persons. If more people, more than one guide is needed.
There is a restriction on how many people can stay in the chapels of the church at one time:
The Chapel of Christian 1.: 12 pers.
Frederick 5.'s Chapel: 16 pers.
Christian 9.'s Chapel 20 pers.
St. Andreas Chapel: 5 pers.
Groups should as far as possible use the church's guide system with microphone and headset. These are thoroughly cleaned by church staff after use.
